The Last Song-Connects to the world
In The Last Song I think the book relates to the world because Ronnie's dad has cancer towards the end of the book and a lot of people have cancer in the USA and in the world. I think the world can relate to the book because people have cancer and they have to go through a lot of pain. Not only them, but there loved ones have to take care of them or watch them go through so much pain. That's what Ronnie and her family had to go through. Ronnie took care of her father when he was sick. Some people survive cancer, but others don't. Like in the book Ronnie's dad dies in the end from the cancer. I do believe that the world can relate to this book because a lot of deaths are caused by cancer.

Tia,
ReplyDeleteThis is a very thoughtful connection. I think you hit the nail right on the head with how much pain Cancer causes many people (its victims and their loved ones) every year. I think everyone in the world probably knows someone who has passed away from cancer or knows someone who has experienced a loved one passing away. In my case, my Grandpa died a year and a half ago from bone cancer. He was in a lot of pain, so we were all "okay" when he passed away (of course, okay is a relative term, right?) But, no matter how much we were thankful he isn't in pain anymore, my Grandma (his wife of 63 and a half years) still had her husband taken from her by this awful disease. Your connection is probably what connects many people to this book and the strong characters Nicholas Sparks creates.
